Silverlight series in SharePoint Magazine
Recently a new article in my Silverlight series is published in SharePoint Magazine. This is already the 4th part in the Silverlight series. This article explains how you can build your own Silverlight web part using the Visual Web Part template of the Visual Studio 2010 tools for SharePoint 2010.
Next article will be on hosting Silverlight applications from within a Web Part tool pane.

I’m Karine Bosch and I’m a SharePoint developer. Since April 2009 I’m rewarded as SharePoint MOSS MVP. For several years I worked as technical assistant for Patrick Tisseghem who unfortunately died on 3th September 2008. After I left U2U, I started working part time for Spikes NV and for Critical Path Training of Ted Pattison and Andrew Connell (the former Ted Pattison Group). The U2U CAML Query Builder and some other SharePoint features like the U2U List Properties feature and the U2U Site Properties are developed by me and are still downloadable from the U2U site at http://www.u2u.be/res/software.aspx.
Together with Patrick we developed the alfa and beta versions of the Silverlight BluePrint for SharePoint which contains several samples on how to integrate Silverlight with SharePoint. You can download the samples from http://www.codeplex.com/SL4SP.

Hi Patrick, you have a good point. When I started this series, HTML 5 was not in the scope yet. But it seems to me that it will become a huge success. Silverlight applications are difficult to build, especially when you’re not a Silverlight developer. At the SharePoint Conference I followed a session by Ted Patisson on SharePoint 2010 and HTML 5 and it looks promissing.
